A few days after laying down inches of mulch all over our garden, I strolled around looking for evidence of spring.
I found some. However, I also found evidence of a squirrel’s activity of looking for food. There were holes everywhere.
They were just deep enough for me to recognize the squirrel and its behavior, which I imagine results from a thought process that sounds like this: “I know I buried these nuts here somewhere!”
I know he isn’t thinking anything like this:
“I don’t know where I buried those nuts, so I am going to sit here until I remember.”
“I don’t know if I am capable of finding nuts. I failed last time, so I am not going to try again.”
“I don’t know if I like nuts anymore. What’s the use of looking for them?”
I don’t know are dangerous words when followed by a thought, feeling, or action of waiting, incapableness, or hopelessness.
Our lives are wasted when these three words are used to identify ourselves.
They act as a verdict and a life sentence of defeat.
When we agree with them, we have agreed with the one liar whose intent is to stop us from living our lives as the action of the Divine.
The squirrel is not using them as an identifier; he is using them to produce action.
“I don’t know. I will find out” is both a promise and a motivator.
Can you imagine an infinite Mind saying, “I don’t know?”
Thankfully, that would be impossible. Infinite Mind, the intelligence of the universe knows, and since It does, so do we.
Listening to the still, small voice within, we will discover with great delight that we do know.
We know who we are and what we want to do.
Starting with the words “I do know” opens the door that was shut by the agreement that we don’t.
Action always follows knowing, and the burden of carrying and living the lie that I don’t know lifts like a fog.
And just as the lifting mist reveals a beautiful landscape, the lifting of the fog of the mist-perception of the words, I don’t know, reveals what has always been present—an abundant and fulfilling life for each of us.
Think, write, and say, “I do know,” with the acceptance that this is True because your True nature is the child of the Divine.
Experience the immediate and tangible results of lifting the lie imposed by the words I don’t know.
You do know.
It is impossible to be the idea of the infinite Mind and not know.
