Reasons To Spiritually Scan Yourself Daily
You probably know what made me think of this. It was our computers. Out of nowhere, they had each developed a problem.
Ads started popping up suggesting we “do this, buy that, fix this.” It was terrible. We had some kind of virus, or at least a very nasty intruder.
After a little research, we found the solution and eliminated the problem. However, it took three different programs and a bunch of time to do so.
Now, you might think, “Well, why didn’t they have virus protection on their computers?”
We did. A very good one. However, it didn’t catch those kinds of attacks. We added programs that now scan our computers daily to catch those little things that slip through the cracks but cause those annoying problems.
Once again, life provided the perfect symbol for the necessity of paying attention.
Although I believe I have an excellent point of view and a well-grounded system of habits for keeping my thoughts away from obvious mental intrusions, I know I miss thoughts and ideas that slip in or have always been there. And I have let them remain because they weren’t causing any problems.
Thoughts and ideas that are harmful are like those sneaky computer programs that ride into the system through perfectly legitimate other programs. Programs, which are often not aware they are being host to invaders.
In the computer world, there are people who spend their days creating viruses. Sometimes just to prove they can, sometimes for profit, and even for some, because they love to cause pain and suffering.
The same thing exists in our daily lives. We don’t like to think about it. We don’t like dealing with it, and we wish it would go away without effort on our part.
But that is exactly what a worldview virus wants us to do—ignore it so it can do its invasive work in secret.
Our best protection is to base all our thinking and actions in Truth. The Truth program has already been installed within each of us. It is constantly running in the background.
We switch it to visible when we begin our reasoning with the Truth that there is only one universe, one Life, and it is spiritual, and its force and raison d’être is only Good.
However, this program won’t keep the virus of opposite thinking from attempting to embed itself in our thoughts and habits. We have to scan ourselves daily and eliminate annoying and sometimes destructive thought-viruses.
How do we know if we have been infected?
Are we worried, irritable, sluggish, or tempted to do what we know isn’t right or isn’t in the best interest of everyone?
Do we operate in greed and selfishness or hide from what needs to be done?
These are symptoms of infection.
Those thoughts, worries, and fears don’t belong to us. They are not part of our true identity.
Our immediate response should be to scan ourselves to find and delete the suggestions (viruses) that have caused us to feel and do the opposite of what is True about ourselves.
Always begin every scan by standing in the awareness that our true operating system is perfection.
The scanner that we use is divine Light. Pouring that Light into our systems immediately eradicates darkness, no matter where it hides.
Our computers are our businesses’ lifeblood. We have to keep a daily watch over how they are performing.
How much more important are our lives?
Instead of waiting for symptoms to emerge, we can keep viruses away at all times with daily scans.
We scan ourselves by pausing and listening to what we are thinking, saying, and basing our actions upon.
And if we discover that our state-of-mind has been infected, we smile as we start up the Light scanner, knowing that it will eradicate those nasty suggestions of a power opposite of Good, leaving our original perfection “programming” in place.
