The Mirror of Recognition
Remember Romper Room? If you're of a certain age, you'll recall how the host would lift her magic mirror, peer through it as if gazing directly into our living rooms, and warmly say, "I see Tommy, and Paul, and Joe, and Mary. I see you!" Even when she didn't call our name, we felt special—chosen—if only for that moment.
Years later, Michael Jackson reminded us to examine the person in the mirror if we truly desire to change the world. His message was clear: transformation begins within.
False Prophets of Our Time
Today, we encounter those who proclaim themselves "chosen ones." Yet, unlike the mirror's invitation to self-reflection, these individuals aren't looking inward to create change—they're demanding the world change for them.
These self-appointed chosen ones devote their energy to designing ways for the rest of us to conform to their thinking. Often, they're people in positions of power or those who hunger for it. Their agenda? To acquire and maintain control at any cost.
They declare themselves more important than others because they possess more wealth, believe themselves more intelligent, run the companies where we work, or claim to hear divine guidance more clearly than the rest of us.
The Illusion of Superiority
They haven't been chosen—they've chosen themselves. They want us to believe their intelligence and wisdom surpass our own, that we must pass through them to find forgiveness, happiness, or even earn a decent living.
You'll recognize them as they lead revolts, obstruct progress, and manipulate facts to suit their purposes. They accumulate wealth without feeling compelled to share it. They exist among both men and women, the famous and the unknown—even within our immediate circles.
They control and suppress anything that doesn't advance their agenda. When openly cruel, we identify them as bullies and tyrants.
Beyond the Charming Facade
These self-proclaimed chosen ones masterfully manipulate words. Often charming, they present themselves as allies. But look closer: fear and self-preservation guide their actions—not the qualities of a true chosen one.
Rather than following them, we acknowledge their inherent spiritual nature while hoping they'll eventually awaken from the fear that has misled them.
The True Chosen Ones
The true chosen ones? They're those who haven't lost touch with their ability to listen and act from their highest understanding of what serves everyone on our planet.
You remain among the chosen when you look into life's mirror each day and ask yourself: "How can I serve love more effectively and completely?"
Reclaiming Our Power
We can reclaim what we've surrendered by recognizing that those claiming to be chosen while acting in self-interest are both misled and misleading.
When we stop heeding their voices and instead listen to what we know is right—acting from goodness and love toward all—their disruptive noise gradually fades.
A Sacred Responsibility
Being a chosen one carries responsibility: to stand against indifference to injustice, to act for others' benefit, to remain attentive, and to be a good neighbor, friend, family member, and community participant.
That's what being chosen truly means.
It has nothing to do with prestige, wealth, or job title.
It's about answering the call of goodness rather than fear.
Living as the Chosen
Living as a chosen one, we follow this timeless wisdom:
"Cease from anger, and forsake wrath: fret not thyself in any wise to do evil. For evildoers shall be cut off: but those that wait upon the Lord, they shall inherit the earth. For yet a little while, and the wicked shall not be: yea, thou shalt diligently consider his place, and it shall not be. But the meek shall inherit the earth; and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace." (Psalms 37)
I believe the Divine symbolically gazes through Its magic mirror each day, calling out our names: "I see you doing good, and I appreciate and support you in all ways."
You, my dear friends, are the chosen ones.
Never forget this truth, and never let anyone convince you otherwise.
What about reading a book about women who see memories and have to learn to use their gifts rather than running away from them? The Returning.
Yes. Well said. I believe that it may be the humble, quiet "angels" among us who are holding the frequency of that which is Real. They are those who brings divine love and true wisdom to the human scene. But ever so humbly -- "Not puffing themselves up."
