Are you often astonished at how many loving, thoughtful, spiritual students take strident sides on issues on social media?
Not the honorable kind of discussion where the best ideas are appreciated and supported, but the taking of sides where we essentially say, “You are wrong, I am right, and my side must win, and your side must lose.”
It happens in all phases of life and has for thousands of years.
We claim God takes sides for sports teams, companies, homes, and political systems. Today, we have bombs and terrorists. In the past, we had crusades and death camps.
Haven’t we, as serious metaphysicians, learned not to do that—not to claim to be right within the human realm?
There is only one side to be on, only one side to take, and that is the side of unconditional, underived Love.
We all know that we can’t fix a problem within the same thought process that created the problem. As spiritual students and metaphysicians, haven’t we learned to take that one step further?
Don’t we all know that we must start with the perfect Principle of Love governing the universe and not from a belief in human right and wrong?
When we take human sides without first starting with this Principle of Love, we throw ourselves out of Eden and into the chaos of good and evil.
However, we are critical thinkers.
We question what appears as reality.
We question if what others tell us is true.
We question the voices that bring disharmony.
The lie of evil is one lie. It is the lie that there are two powers, good and evil. Both cannot be in the same place at the same time.
Which side are we on, duality or Oneness?
How does this work in our lives, especially now with all the political diatribes and wars?
When we choose the point of view that we are all One and are the action and awareness of Love Loving Itself, we leave the dualist point of view that created the counterfeit control and greed, and that standpoint will transform what appears as political issues.
To do this, we start with God First and with the qualities of God.
Before choosing a human side, we ask ourselves, “What qualities of God are apparent in the debated issues?”
Support these God qualities first.
Claim their ever-presence, their omnipresence.
Act as if you are the emissary for that quality (you are).
Know that what is at stake is not a certain person being elected, a bill being passed, or an unjust idea defeated.
What is at stake is so much bigger than that.
When we take sides before establishing our thoughts in divine Love, we play the devil’s game.
We have removed ourselves from the point of view of one Infinite Love, and stepped into evil’s arena. In evil’s arena, we will never win. We are its pawns.
It doesn’t matter if our cause wins if we have started from this duality.
If we believe that our knowledge is greater than another's, that our god is the real god, that we know more than they do, or that we are right and they are wrong—starting and staying in these points of view, we have lost—we are lost.
Sure, we can support the causes that we believe in, but the cause that we must first be passionate about is living and supporting the qualities of kindness, justice, and love—not the human kind—the Divine kind.
If we all began with God First, not a human god but the infinite God who is Good, we would no longer fight over issues.
We would discuss how best to accomplish the highest good for the greatest number of people.
We would stop fighting or supporting personalities.
Yes, many will not understand the God First concept. In their minds, they are right, and others are wrong, and fight they will for their viewpoint.
However, if we call ourselves metaphysicians, claim to put God First in our lives, and sincerely desire to experience the grace of the Divine, then this division has to stop.
Before posting on social media, sharing with friends, or even talking to ourselves, we must stop and ask ourselves, “Is this how I want to be? Is this how I want to be seen, as a divider, as part of the separation? Or will I support the Good of God as the only power and take action only from that standpoint?”
Then, and only then, will Love reign, and the outcome of what we desire will be higher than we can imagine or humanly fight for.
Step out of evil’s boxing ring and into the Light of Love. Pay attention to daily thoughts and move them out of separation and into the infinite.
Fight for Truth, not by fighting factions, but by denying duality of any power and acting only from unconditional Love.
We can find quotes and evidence to support our positions, but instead, we could rise above this level of reasoning and into the atmosphere of perfect Love.
As we do this, we will lift others into that state of consciousness, and they, too, will begin to take action based on Love.
That will transform what appears to be the world. It is the side of peace and love, and we must choose this side first.
St Francis of Assisi: "Where there is discord, may we bring harmony. Where there is error, may we bring truth. Where there is doubt, may we bring faith. And where there is despair, may we bring hope."
